The Downtown Student is a multimedia platform dedicated to capturing and celebrating student life in Toronto and beyond. We publish content that’s useful, creative, and rooted in real experiences: practical guides, honest storytelling, fresh perspectives, and everything in between.
We pay our contributors
Contributors are compensated for every published piece, with rates starting at $50 CAD for written work and $100 CAD for video and more complex media. Every submission goes through our editorial team, so you’ll get real feedback and professional support along the way.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for contributors who are ready to build their portfolio, sharpen their skills, and share their voice with a growing audience. We welcome creators at all skill levels across writing, video, photography, design, and more.
Contributors can be current students or anyone with a passion for student life – all are welcome.
