Don’t let its name fool you, this is Canadian poutine through and through. A national chain with local roots (first Canadian location opened in 1984; poutine added in 1989), New York Fries pairs skin-on, hand-cut fries with real Quebec cheese curds and signature gravy. They offer a wide range of inventive toppings, from Truffle and Pulled Pork, to Butter Chicken and Bacon Double Cheese—served in snack, regular, or large sizes, or even as a poutine kit.

A city-wide favourite tucked into a shipping‑container stall at Market 707 on Dundas W, Nom Nom Nom serves up poutine that often leads the Toronto rankings. Their fries are golden, the cheese curds are properly squeaky, and the gravy perfectly tops it off.
