Waking up before 10AM on a Sunday? Couldn’t be me. Sundays are made for slow starts, spontaneous plans, and soaking up every second of freedom before Monday hits. If you’re living in downtown Toronto, you’ve got everything you need for a great day off. Good food, cute cafés, and stunning lake views. Just follow these steps for a perfect Sunday in Toronto.
Step 1: FIKA Cafe
Start with a Fika Latte from FIKA Cafe in Kensington Market. The café is peaceful, the coffee is top-tier, and their breakfast buns taste like a hug. After that, take a wander through Kensington. There’s always something weird, wonderful, or handmade to stumble across, whether it’s vintage clothes or rings that cost less than your TTC fare.
📍28 Kensington Ave
🕒 Sunday: 10AM – 6PM
Step 2: Seven Lives Tacos
When you’re hungry, hit up Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos for the best taco you’ve ever had. It’s spicy, tangy, and gloriously messy.
📍72 Kensington Ave
🕒 Sunday: 12PM – 9PM
Step 3: Chinatown
Then grab a Toronto Bike Share and head toward Chinatown. There’s a station right near Kensington Market, and you can drop off near any major stop downtown. Shop at the street stalls, hunt for new jewelry or a funky pair of sunglasses and sip bubble tea while you browse.
Step 4: Harbourfront
Eventually, coast down to the Harbourfront and let the city fade into the background. Park your bike, chill by the water, and breathe.
Step 5: Sugar Beach
Next up, stroll over to Sugar Beach. Lie in the sand, catch some rays, and pretend you’re on vacation.
📍Queens Quay E & Lower Jarvis St
Step 6: Toronto Music Garden
When the sky starts to turn golden, head to the Toronto Music Garden. It’s peaceful, poetic, and the perfect place to watch the sunset and reflect on your week.
📍479 Queens Quay W
🕒 Open daily, 7AM – 9PM
No deadlines, no pressure, just a day that feels good.
